The sims castaway stories: Trouble installing(PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!)?

I'm having trouble too with installing it. But when I installed mine nothing happened. It didn't even tell me to restart the computer. When you installed yours did any icon pop up? Or when you go to Computer under the E: drive can you see it does it say the CD is DVD RW? I don't think they should be rewritable and I'm starting to think that The Sims Castaway Stories are all messed up. The bad thing is we can't return them...
